Some things are worth getting up early for! On Citizens’ Appreciation Day, the 2nd and 4th Saturday each month where visitors can enter the market (normally closed to the public), a guide who works at the market will give you lots of rare information about the market. You may even hear behind-the-scenes shopping tips or inside stories about products bought that day! After the tour, feast on the exclusive Chiba Asobi rice bowls, full of ingredients carefully selected by each store. (Choose one type when registering)
Chiba Asobi Rice Bowl from Kayouken!
Kayouken’s original tempura rice bowl features ingredients such as large shrimp tempura, anago (conger eel), and asparagus, cooked with techniques from Chinese cuisine. Come enjoy tempura made from delicious market ingredients, complete with a special sauce made just for this dish.
Introducing a tempura rice bowl heaped with seafood tempura! Comes with miso soup and salad.
Chiba Asobi Rice Bowl from Totonchuu!
Fresh sashimi piled so high that you can’t even see the rice underneath! Turn the plate and start eating from wherever you like! Come to Totonchuu for a Chiba Asobi rice bowl featuring a good balance of ingredients from an intermediate wholesaler specializing in tuna.
Filled to the brim with delicious seafood!

*Meals will be eaten inside the restaurant. If the restaurant is crowded, you may have to wait before eating. Please also understand that some ingredients in the Chiba Asobi rice bowls may change.

In front of the Chiba City Local Wholesale Market Administration Building
From JR Inagekaigan Station (Keiyo Line), take the Chiba Kaihin bus bound for Kaihin Kouen Iriguchi (海浜公園入口) departing at 7:36 from bus stop 2 and get off at the last stop, Kaihin Kouen Iriguchi. Walk 7 minutes to the market.
Elementary school students and younger should be accompanied by a guardian. The market is still open during rain. In case of cancellation, you will be contacted no later than 17:00 the day before. When registering, please choose one type of Chiba Asobi rice bowl.

Q: Can I make a reservation when a plan is already full?
A: Yes, you can. If someone cancels, your reservation will then already be in place.
Q: Are there any cancelation fees?
A: No, there aren’t.However, canceling can greatly inconvenience the other participants, so please refrain from doing so unless it’s really necessary.
Q: Do I get something if I make a reservation?
A: No, we don’t use tickets or anything like that.
Q: Can I pay in advance?
A: No, I’m afraid not. All plans must be paid in cash on site.
