Experience two traditional crafts!
“Glass Bead-making” &  “Edo Kiriko glass”

Follow the guidelines marked on the plate to shave it down.

Express the essence of spring with beautiful cherry blossom and wisteria designs

At “atelier D・D”, a glass studio located in Inage Ward, you can enjoy making traditional Edo kiriko glass and glass bead-making. Designs include limited-time spring cherry blossoms and wisteria! Classes are limited to a maximum of 3 people, meaning each student can be taught in-depth and even beginners can create something beautiful. Come try taking a class on these traditional crafts, which are rare even within Chiba, and experience the joy of making authentic crafts!

▲A collaborative work between teacher and student. This is the kind of intricate pattern you can learn to cut after studying here for 1 year.

Glassbead Making (approx. 15min)

▲Once you melt down a glass rod of your favorite color onto a needle bar, you turn it while heating it to form its shape.
Then you melt down a slimmer glass rod to make a pattern.

Edo Kiriko (approx. 60min)

▲Follow the guidelines marked on the plate to shave it down with a special diamond wheel. Once you can make a complete circle around the base, try your hand at cherry blossom patterns too!

▲A completed cut plate! The hour spent focusing on it goes by in an instant. And look how well the cherry blossom pattern turned out

▲A completed chilly glass bead with a marble pattern! Made from clear glass with blue and pink on it. “I love how it turned out. I’ll treasure it♪”
