A relaxing ceramics experience at Kattago, the town of bountiful greenery

The Takanashis, who run Kattago. They are happy to assist everyone, including beginners.

Highly recommended for anyone who’d like to make their own cups!

Come try making your own handmade ceramics at Kattago, a place where quaint old homes and storehouses built during Japan’s mid-Edo Period (circa 1735) can still be seen. Even beginners can easily enjoy making their own one-of-a-kind personal cup. Finished mugs can be branded with a choice of 1 of 3 Chinese characters: 愛 – Love, 侍 – Samurai, and 魂 – Soul! After the ceramic experience, visitors can take a coffee break and hear how professional ceramic artists make their ceramics.
